do you think a cylinder could be made to convert a 7.62 Nagant Revolver to .30 caliber carbine?

You will have to use some strong metal.

I loaded a .38 spl cartridge with 1/3 of a M-1 Carbine powder charge.  It blew the pistol into pieces.  I was lucky, a piece only nicked one ear.

Ruger built a Blackhawk in .30 Carbine for a while. Even it couldn't hold up. Many ended up with cracked frames. Could a Nagant handle it? NO!!!!!!!

i think .327 federal would work better, and its rimmed so headspacing it is easier, plus the COAL is about the same.. if you loaded .327 federal to lower pressure, say you made your own .32 special type of loading, that could work

id trim the .327 federal case back about 1mm though so you cant accidently load full power 327 federal into it

Or .32 H&R magnum which is slightly lower pressure than the .327 Federal and a slightly shorter case as well from memory that would be a better bet, I discussed conversion of a model 36 to .32 H&R a while ago so the Nagant should be OK to run it.

Just make sure you test it with a long piece of string from behind a corner

I have run 32 H&R out of a nagant. It does alright. I find I do better with either 32-20 brass and the double ended grafs bullets set in there pretty good Or take a 32 h&r and load it with a 35 or 40 grain 223 bullet shoved into an accelerator. Still haven't got the accelerator load finished yet. As that one sits right now target or small animal the accelerator don't separate till it embeds in the target and spits the bullet forward from there

Think the Accelerator sabots were designed to separate at a much higher muzzle velocity and rpm.
