Okay one big one I have been chewing on for years, literally years. To my understanding muzzleloaders are considered antique and not regulated like modren arms are. That said would a muzzle loading machine gun be viewed as a title three weapon by the ATF? (You know the short bus people, side note has anyone from the ATF ever not refer to themselves as "special" agent?) I can't be the first to ask this. Also why does it seem as though the ATF has a lot more pull then the FBI? If I ran the country I would ax the ATF and have the FBI take over there duties. IE arms trafficking/illegal arms manufacturer and ownership.

I am looking to build a boat to sail around the world, I would like a disposable arm for gun unfriendedly countries, for passage in high risk areas. Something that can be tossed over board and easily replaced. A air machine gun would be great if it is viable for defense, and internationaly legal(ish).

I have been trying to get a mill and lathe for ever, I would rather buy a older used machine. The problem is if it fits in a pickup it's ungodly expensive if, it is in my budget I have only seen machines so big I can't figure what could have been made on them. I don't know if I could build a CNC that could cut steel, but that looks like what I am going to end up building.

Sorry if I am confusing I am off my ADD meds most times.

Sincerely,
Kain Kelly

Welcome to Weaponeer.  Got any Legos?

I deleted your very nearly duplicate post.  If you wish to revise this one, click the edit button, and you can change it.

Sailing to foreign ports becomes a very difficult proposition, as what is not a firearm in US law may be a firearm in another country, and even ammo is sometimes controlled.  If you stick to US waters - St Thomas to Guam - LEOSA is a help, if you go to the trouble of becoming a reserve police officer, which gives you nationwide concealed carry, even in US territories.

Two thoughts - leave a submerged buoy in international waters before you sail into a port, w/ your aluminum/stainless/plastic gun (AR-15, et al) & brass/copper/aluminum/polymer coated ammo, or have a variety of tools to make guns, the AR again being one of the easiest to make, w/ available 0-80% lowers and jigs, molds for plastic ARs, and even the upper relatively easy to make from a steel tube.

Alternative weapons aren't what you want to save you from pirates. If you go ashore for supplies or tourism you aren't likely to be searched. At sea in known drug routes is where you would likely be searched. If you have a personality change when you forget your meds you should seriously consider how you would be viewed by police floating around the ocean with a gun of any type.

watch Craigslist for smaller used mill and lathe. Don't fall for the combo machines they wind up more limiting than they look.

Life is short, live your dream.

Welcome to Weaponeer.

Thank you both for your welcome, I cant get into that account again and it will not let me reset the password. So sorry for the late reply. If I may has anyone here made a tube gun? Not the smg but the long distance bench rifles for competition? (Or is that the grease gun I am thinking of?) I do not expect the same high level accuracy/repeatably.  At least from a first effort, mainly as a off the beaten path arm to show off you know? Also what is a good first build, my guess would be a AR am I far off? Thanks again for your time.

ARs are the easiest to build right now.  The parts are widely available and cheap.  I'm building 3 ARs for Christmas and will like as not not have more than $300 in each of em.

Another thing I am wanting to do in time is build a replica of this:

https://www.nrablog.com/articles/2017/11/a-sixteenth-century -16-shooter/

Despite meeting every qualification for a antique firearm would this still be considered title three, or a AOW even?

As the multiple shots are a feature of the ammunition, not the firearm, I don't see how it would be classified as a Title 2 firearm in US law.  Overseas, who knows.  It's also very much like a pipe bomb next to your face.

Yeah really light loads first and for most. I have always heard one pull one shot, and was unsure if this would be a exception. The more I think the more I feel I am better off taking real minimal weapons. I have a safe place to store what ever I don't take shore side.

After talking with a friend with experience in high risk areas most countries will do one of three things, take them for shore side storage with international law requiring them to return them upon check out, put a tamper seal on locked box/safe that you did not use or open them while you were in country, or tell you not to shoot someone in there waters. Another thing he stated that to his knowledge no country will take a signalling device form a vessel. (Flare guns) People have carried 12 gauges under that rule for a while. Well they take buck shot, most likely. So that loop hole may or may not be that valid.

I also keep getting told access denied when I post how much longer will that keep up?

Jesus Christ.
I'd feel safer with Somali pirates than firing that boat anchor of a rifle.

I hate myself for posting this, but let's pretend you're asking a hypothetical question in a world without rule of law.

Find or acquire a Glock 19. Put maritime cups in it. Stock up on 9mm and 15 and 33 round magazines. Don't tell anyone and stop posting on the Internet.

Hypothetically.

I understand where you are coming from, one of my posts is missing, I had written out what I would do with most of my guns when I go, and a conversation I had about guns in a foreign port. Just my two cents I will see if it is still pending on my laptop then repost if it didn't go through.
