This gun doesnt have a feed ramp, at 0:44 the guy presses the trigger and it feeds the bullet in the chamber.

My question is Did he made some sort o bevel in the barrel and is it safe? In my opinion It would lead the case exposed quite a bit ? as it has so sit 2-3 mm from the barrel already. any opinions?

Sometimes the feed geometry from the feed lips to the chamber is nearly perfect.  For example, MagPul claims M855A1 doesn't touch the receiver feed ramps when fed from their Gen 2 & Gen 3 magazines.

I'm a bit confused by his removable bbl?  Is that a suppressor he unscrews, or is it a length of bbl?

It depends on the magazines, single feed magazines like used for pistols mostly and sms like sten do not need a strict feedramp, just a bevel on chamber end, like in STEN, and double feed like UZI or sterling need a feedramp.

Sterling has barrel end similar to STEN, but also feedramp is incorporated in the magazine.

I had heard that Sterlings could use STEN mags.  True?

Sterlings can use STEN mags in theory. Though the tolerances of STEN mags are all over the place. It's kind of like how a SAW can use m16 mags in theory but it jams like mad.

Have heard that about the 249, but have also heard that MagPuls work well, and that most of the issues are mags w/ worn out springs.  Also heard that the gunners don't train w/ mags, so only occasionally experimented w/ overseas.

Presumably, a Sterling mag would then lock in a STEN, but wouldn't feed properly @ all?

I don't know if sterling mags will even fit honestly. I've never handled a sterling.

Trust me mag issues all over the place ...its just easier with those 2 to use bthe correct mag.
Swaety guys with beards in caves might make them interchange, but for the most part its just easier to bang your head against the wall

as well maybe you guys know, how do i figure out of what kind of spring do i need for recoil ? i know it all depends on bolts weight, caliber i use.. however maybe there is some sort o table or graph with the strength the spring should be? or maybe formula ?

Spring is not that much extremely important, as long as it is strong enough to detonate the primer.

But note that single feed mags like sten need stronger spring since they put on a bigger pressure on the underside on the bolt closing and chambering a round,
than when using double feed magazines.
So the same spring could depending on the magazine cause difference in failure or firing.

i just hope the bolt wont be too light, about 500 grams for 9mm..its about as low you wanna go according to dmitrieffs handbook. Bolt stroke will be about 11 cm and barrel not sure...i guess it has to be short because of the weight of the bolt.Im still not sure if im gonna build it thought.
