Probably old news, but I just found out about this; which is apparently CT legal, provided the upper has no naughty bits. Looks a lot more comfortable and smooth than those California stocks that still use the standard buffer...

Proprietary lower and bolt carrier, but any upper should work. Reminds me a lot of the Leader Dynamics T2 / AAA Sac; ( except it was based off the AR-18 )

And they are selling just the lower now too according to this article:

http://www.guns.com/2014/10/30/ares-scr-lower-now-sold-separ ately-by-popular-demand/

The only change I might want to make personally, is use a left side charging upper, instead of the standard charging handle.

Doesn't it still fall foul of the fingers of the trigger hand being beneath the action? Or not if you use an ARAK upper, I suppose.

I haven't been to a gun store in a looong time to see it personally, but apparently they are currently being sold by dealers.

So it would seem if you camouflage the action, the CSP will let if fly and the plain language of the law means nothing.

The safest course of action would be to put an ARAK upper on it, assuming the hammer can reach the firing pin.

Maybe they only consider the "action" to be within the receiver? Another question for the Firearms division, who has not called back yet. The last time I got this run around, they never called back either.

If that was the case, the MonsterMan grip would be perfectly legal.
