Still looking for a kit I can afford. Kinda hoping someone would be willing too trade a build for a kit.

Ryche volunteered his as a test dummy if needed but i would feel more comfortable doing one i owned 1st incase i do mess up.

Just a reminder, payments for the rest are due ASAP.

I should have these either this week or next depending, we got delayed on the final machining operation.

I'm still gonna send my kit to you as i don't have the capacity to do most of the work   HHHMMM Gotta talk to biker and see if he's got some ideas.
Anyway we can work out the details later, especially if you need the "test case"

That's great new Mech Warrior. When you start your build do you have any plans to see if an alternate cal. would be feasible? Maybe 308 or 7.62x54...something more readily available.

Mine arrived safely today and, well, it's just drop dead gorgeous.

I presume that the rivets are to be used to attach the receiver cams, correct?

Arrived safely yesterday, lovely chunk of steel!! Finish work should be easy and fast. Cut back one or two threads off FCG, bevel/shorten cam, rivet in, relieve back of safety lock notch , cut slots, (with mods of course)shorten front of mag housing if needed for indexing, easypeasy !!! Now we need FCG parts. Great work Marty.

grinders4me.....yes i would think an alternate caliber like .308 wouldbe feesable. Notsure about the 54r in the drums though. The rims may cause an issue IF they even fit......But a mag for 54r may be an option with an adapter.

bbrown....correct, the rivets are too instal the cams.

bbstacker, you about got it all summed up! FCG parts are in the works along with: drum loaders, stocks, and an aa shroud that will accept the watercooled barrel for a simple swap from water cooled too air cooled with only 1 kit.

weaponeer.......I do have more of these avaliable and if anyone wants one let me know. I may beable toosecure you one and let you do payments. Call me sometime!

I do believe i have the kit issue resolved.....once i get it i will cut my receiver and then i will know what it costs too finish them into 100% for those that are not able or dont have time.

There is no way 54r will work in the saddle drum. But like Mech said a mag with some kind of adapted set up will work.
If you went to a .308 conv. you will need a spacer plate of some sort in the saddle drum. back end to nose distance is CRITICAL in the drums.
And God help you if just one round falls out of the feed ways, because then you got to take the whole fragginn thing apart under spring pressure(two really big clock springs all wound nice and tight) to clear it.  ASK me just how i know this
Oh yeah and the slots on all the little screws are not a normal size. so in the field modifying a screwdriver sucks  oh and one better DON'T strip a screw then it really sucks.....
Ryche

Mech i'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with

We got lucky on that one out there, it only took about an hour, once you found a screwdriver that would work
But man the other one the Jap one at home  what a nightmare.
Still appreciate your help that day since neither of us knew what the inside was going to look like
So go ahead tell us in your own words just how do you know
