So tonight I had the strange idea to challenge myself to use only the materials and tools shown to create a working ar-15 lower.

Discovered the glue will go through wax paper, so double or triple wrap anything you don't want destroyed. Also it helps with adding clearance for the magazine to slide easily. mine fits a little tight later on and I've been scraping it with the edge of the scissors to loosen it up.

Decided to take a break after the first 3 hours.
Will anybody complain if I make the pistol grip out of a toilet paper roll to fit the theme?

ROFL - Wood, plastic, 3-D printing, now paper?  You are going to one-up Orion's Hammer.

Gotta love inspired ideas!  Hope there is not a run on TP.  Homeland Security may be buying up all available TP to prevent any copycat clones.

When I was a kid in the UK, we had a tv programme called Blue Peter, and they had a bit on the show when they made all sorts of thing from anything and everything you could find in the house, toilet rolls, washing up liquid bottles and plenty of sticky back plastic

This is a link from the 1990's after I had grown up (if you believe that you'll believe anything)
http://youtu.be/auiP1YdelEo

This build would be right up Blue Peter's street, if it was not made by the BBC.

Definitely going to keep an eye on this! (I'm assuming you will be sticking with a .22 upper?) Go go papier mâché rifle! Worst case scenario you end up with a handful of crumbled tp that ain't worth wiping your arse with...

I like the way your fitting the lower to the upper, getting one piece to fit then making another piece.

I'm enjoying this thread

Well, if a plaster cast is strong enough to set human bones...

This is deliciously silly.  I thought I was being silly.

still considering making the firing control group out of paper and glue. The glue is stronger than what they make airsoft gun firing groups out of, so it should work

Yay, it would be just fine 'til the sear broke @ an inopportune moment, & it went full auto @ the range.  Use real parts.

Hahaha Likewise 'cos when The SHTF not only will we be up sh*tcreek without a paddle, I'll have nothing to wipe my arse on, and the idea of a negligent discharge blowing my balls off whilst I wipe with the only bit of TP I can find is less than appealing

I would have thought that using the same sort of resin that carbon fibre is bonded with would work fine with toilet paper.
